Emmanuel Baptist Church (New Dock) and Bethania Baptist Chapel (Morfa) are located less than half a mile from each other in South Llanelli. The two different congregations share a lot in common and so we have chosen to work in a very close partnership with each other.
'Emmanuel' and ‘Bethania’ as we are often referred to in the local community are made up of people of various ages from all sorts of backgrounds with many different stories to tell. Some of us have lived and worked in the area all of our lives; some of us have recently moved to Llanelli.
Many of us live within walking distance of the Church buildings. That’s why as Churches we are not simply located in the heart of the community but we also have a heart for the community. The thing that holds us together is the belief that people - people like us - matter to God.
So for us being part of the Church is not simply about what we believe but it is also about experiencing God’s care and transforming power in our lives today. A few of us would like to introduce ourselves to you - and tell you a little bit of our own story of discovering how much we matter to God. We also would like to let you know what we do and why we do it… and of course how and when you can be involved with us and where you can find us!
