Now there are those collectors that trump about the value or the rarity of their objects. Not me. Because they are not. Some of them you might think of as junk (but please don't say it out aloud). Even, the odd one or two were handed to me out of skips and many are other people's cast offs. But they are all loved and they all have a place.
Several of the cameras have been with me most of my life. One must have started the craze - and I can put my finger on it. One documented the story of my children's childhood. One was a chance encounter in a Jessops store that re-awakened my enthusiasm for the SLR. And that lead to one that would be my prize fortieth birthday present.
All of these cameras tell a story and that is why I've created this blog. Perhaps its because the family are fed up with me talking about them and I just need someone to listen. Perhaps its to explain to my kids which ones are "special after I'm gone. Whatever the reason herein starts the story.....
